Winter Mini Reading Challenge Returns to Stoneleigh Library

Join us this winter for an exciting celebration of reading with the Winter Mini Challenge 2024/25. Running from 1st December to 20th February, this free programme invites young readers aged 4-11 to embark on their own reading adventure.

How It Works

This year's challenge is all about being 'Marvellous Makers', and we're making it easier than ever for children to participate:

1. Set Your Own Goal

Choose how many books you'd like to read (minimum 3). Set an ambitious target that works for you!

2. Join Online

Register at wintermini.org.uk from 1st December.

Your Name in Lights

  • Personalise your own frame with your first name and reading target
  • Watch your name move from our 'Starting Your Journey' board
    to the 'Challenge Champions' board
  • Celebrate your reading achievement with the whole community

Claim Your Prize

What You'll Get

  • Choice of exciting prizes (magic snake cube, bean bag, or tennis ball)
  • Special book from our prize selection
  • Your spot on our Challenge Champions board

How to Collect

Bring to the library:

  • Your completion certificate (printed or on phone)
  • Surrey Library card (or join during your visit)

Pop into Stoneleigh Library to pick up your challenge bookmark with a QR code, or visit wintermini.org.uk from 1st December to get started. Our friendly library volunteers are here to help you begin your winter reading adventure.

Note: The Winter Mini Challenge is primarily designed for children aged 4-11, but younger children are welcome to participate. Prizes are suitable for children aged 3 and above.
