Eco Activities  

From Monday 18th February, we are promoting ecological awareness with a series of displays and activities in the Libray. These will include;







  • "Plastic Recycling" by Local Environmentalist Reema Ajmera.
  • "Local Recycling" by Epsom & Ewell Borough Council's Waste Services Team.


Glass Bottles for Recylcing


Come along to two FREE talks on Thursday 7th March 2pm-4pm and learn about plastic recycling from local environmentalist and campaigner, Reema Ajmera, and from Officers from Epsom & Ewell Borough Council about how the Council are implementing the UK's New Waste Strategy and how you can help improve our local recycling efforts.


The speakers will be happy to answer all your waste related questions after their talks.



No need to book, just show up! Demand may be high, so come early.



Stoneleigh Community Library is committed to supporting the community in avoiding being victims of crime. As part of this commitment, we are happy to host an awareness event for Bucks & Surrey Trading standards.



Scams Talk


Friends Against Scams awareness sessions are run by SCAM champions, who are trained and supported by the National Trading Standards Scams Team through Bucks and Surrey Trading Standards.


This FREE session will be on 6th March, 2-4pm. There is no need to book, just turn up. Places are limited though so be early!

This is a fun 45 minute interactive awareness session providing a chance to meet other people who want to '"Take a Stand Against Scams".



Alternatively, complete the online learning session, which can be done in the comfort of your own home, at work or wherever, is most convenient for you. The online learning is also interactive, so you will be able to learn about scams in a fun way. Complete the online learning here.


Regular Events and Activities
Monday Storybox: (Term Time Only)  

Stories and crafts with a different theme each week. Suitable for children aged from 18 months up to 4 years accompanied by a parent or carer.


Storybox runs during term-time only on Mondays 10.00 - 11.00 am, however, there are often Storybox special events over half-term and other holidays.






Friday and Saturday Rhymetimes: (  

Library rhymetime sessions are aimed at babies and toddlers, aged under five, along with their parents and carers. The events are based entirely on sharing nursery rhymes, action songs and percussion music. It is fun, interactive and noisy! Friday Rhymetime includes stories.


Fridays      14:00 - 14:30
Saturdays  11:15 - 11:45


Friday Rhymetime will be finishing for the summer on 20th July, however Saturday Rhymetime will continue during the holidays.


Creative Writing Group:  

This small but welcoming group meets meets monthly on a Friday 14:30 - 15:45 and is for anyone interested in improving their creative writing skills, even if they have not much writing experience. Any pieces submitted will be read and then sympathetically discussed.
